Typed paper caption on verso, dated 5th June, 1943, reads:
“The Prime Minister accompanied by Mr. Anthony Eden, Foreign Secretary, and General Sir Alan Brooke, Chief of the Imperial Staff, has now arrived back in London. Mr. Churchill, who had been to Washington for discussions with President Roosevelt, returned via Gibraltar, Algiers, Tunis and a visit to the British and U.S. Armies in North Africa. Photo Shows: Mr. Churchill walking in Downing Street after his arrival back in London.”

Photograph is in very good condition, lightly worn, with discreet inked numerals along lower right edge. It is ink-stamped on verso: “Copyright Planet News, London” and overstamped: “Reviewed and passed U.S. Army Press Censor, War Department,” as well as “Wide World Photo.”
