Description

This is an original press pass issued by Westminster College, Fulton Missouri, March 5, 1946, for a speech by “The Hon. Winston Churchill, introduced by President Harry S. Truman.” This speech would become known as “The Sinews of Peace” or, more widely, as Churchill’s legendary “Iron Curtain Speech.”

The pass is a lime green card (2 5/8 x 5 inches) printed black, with the word PRESS overprinted in bright red. It is in very good condition, a trifle faded, with some light creases and the name of the original passholder (from the “Ralla Daily New Era”) in pencil on the front.
