This original cartoon from Punch Magazine, dated September 16, 1931, is in very good condition. The caption reads:
“Mr. WINSTON CHURCHILL. ‘YOU’VE NOTHING TO COMPLAIN ABOUT, LADDIE. I WAS PLAYING HAMLET BEFORE YOU WENT TO SCHOOL.’”
Illustrator and watercolourist Frank Reynolds began working for Punch in 1906, later succeeding F.H. Townsend as Art Editor. He is also well known for illustrating books by Charles Dickens.
