Description
A very good copy of a very special issue of this legendary, brief-lived, but highly influential fashion magazine, containing an excellent, illustrated article about Winston Churchill the painter, written by then-Director and Keeper of the Tate Gallery, London, John Rothenstein. Rothenstein visited Churchill at Chartwell to interview him for the piece and elicited some of Churchill’s most quotable observations about painting since the original publication of his essay PAINTING AS A PASTIME.
The magazine is in very good condition and includes the original mailing envelope.
