Typed paper caption on verso, dated July 26, 1945, reads:
“Berlin, Germany…While Russian and British officers grin their amusement, Prime Minister Winston Churchill tries out the remains of the chair said to have been Hitler’s personal seat, in the ruins of the former-Fuhrer’s air raid shelter in Berlin. Results of the British General Elections announced today gave the British Labor Party a 2-1 victory over Churchill’s Conservative Party.”
Photograph is in very good condition, lightly worn, with some creased corners, ink-stamped on verso: “International News Photos.”
