Collector's Guide

Marlborough is Winston Churchill’s majestic biography of John Churchill, the first Duke of Marlborough; soldier, statesmen, hard-headed Churchillian ancestor. Initially published in England as a lush four-volume set and then as a somewhat less deluxe six-volume set in America, it was subsequently issued in an unabridged two-volume edition and a single-volume abridgment.

Description

An unusually fine set in unclipped dust jackets of the hyperbolically titled “Limited Presentation Edition” that publisher Harrap issued in December 1939 using remaining sheets from various printings, save for Volume I, which was reprinted expressly for this edition.
Volume II is bound from the second printing of 1934; Volumes III and IV from original First edition sheets.

The very striking dust jackets are here bright and unfaded with only the faintest evidence of wear. The books, in their electrifying purple cloth bindings, are virtually mint.

Unique thus.
