Savrola was Winston Churchill’s first and only novel; a statement of personal and political philosophy delivered as a work of dystopian fiction about dictatorship (with an astonishing relevance to our own dire present moment in time). U.S. publication preceded the British issue by roughly ten days, rendering the American first edition the true first.
Description
This is a very good copy of the so-called “Cheap Edition,” a rather small and fragile clothbound paperback-equivalent of the World War I-era. The cloth remains a deep red and the spine type is still vividly black. The corners have turned and the hinges are tender but the binding is square. The contents are fine, with the pages darkened, as per usual, with age.
A better than average example of a very perishable little book.
