Description
This original gelatin print (9 3/4 x 7 3/4 inches) captures Churchill, Roosevelt and Stalin at the Soviet Embassy on November 28, 1943, the opening day of their first joint conference in Teheran.Churchill smiles ardently at FDR, who looks away quite haughtily in the direction of Stalin, who sits serene and certain. The conference’s dynamic was thus encapsulated with the click of a shutter.
The print, on substantial photo card stock, has a handwritten caption in ink on the verso with the names of the three statesmen and a notation: “Yalta Conference 1944 or Teheran?”
The print is in excellent condition, with miniscule tape residue on the verso, not affecting the image.
