This stunning official wartime formal portrait of Winston Churchill, taken by photographer Walter Stoneman, is mounted on Stoneman’s stamped photo card and is signed and dated: Winston S. Churchill 1947”” in ink beneath the image on the card’s lower border.

The photograph (which measures 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 inches), the signature, and the card itself (4 1/4 x 6 inches) are all in very good condition. The card verso has been extensively annotated in ink. It reads, in part: “Given by Sir Winston Churchill to Mrs. Elsa Blairstell [Priv. Secy. to HRH The Duke of Windsor] at La Croe, Cap d’Antibes, A.M., France July 1947.”
